Sublimation
Sublimation works by using a dye-sublimation printer to print a design or photo onto a special paper in the same way as an ink-jet printer which requires heat to transfer the dyes onto a medium such as metal, plastic, fabric or ceramic. A combination of heat, time and pressure cause the inks to convert from a solid to a gaseous state enabling them to penetrate the sublimatable surface so that a permanent, full colour image is formed. Mostly used for mug printing, sublimation can be used to print clock faces, pendants, aluminium cards, coasters, puzzles, lanyards and many more. It is an ideal gift option if you are looking for something unique as you can have any image applied to a wide variety of things. more....
Rhinestones
Rhinestones (also known as diamantes) are imitations of diamonds made from glass or plastic with a reflective base that causes them to shine and sparkle. Using hot-fix rhinestones, you can decorate almost any fabric by simply heat applying the gems under a heat press which fixes them in place as each gem has an adhesive backing. The process consists of creating a template by cutting holes for each rhinestone in a rubbery plastic which will be layed out flat and brushed over with the gems to fill each hole that makes up the design. When each hole is filled, we then use an adhesive sheet to lift the gems from each hole in the template where then can then be heat applied to the desired garment. more....
